Spheres and Strings and Sand and RATS
Is this what Mars is made of?

Come hear Roger Lenard, CSF member, speak about Mars and the latest finding from the Mars exploration rovers. These devices are about the size of a golf cart and are producing interesting finds. The answer to whether there is or ever was water on Mars still remains elusive. But come find out how things are roving in the sands of Mars.

Mike Riddle's New Mexico Visit, By Mark Burton
Mike Riddle, former Olympic athlete and Microsoft communications expert, recently completed an ICR loop tour through NM. ICR periodically sends speakers our way and you would not have been disappointed had you taken the time to hear Mike. He spoke at churches in Gallup, Albuquerque, Cedar Crest, Santa Fe, Espanola, and Las Cruces. I attended his talk on Tue, Jan 20, at Cedar Crest Baptist Church. It was cold and snowing so attendance was down but the weather didn't chill Mike's presentation.

His first talk was on evidence for Creation and included many references to Dr Humphrey's material. He touched on critical issues such as:

His second talk exposed fraudulent anthropological evidence. Museums and public education have perpetuated the myth that apes evolved into men.

Mike frequently talks to college crowds and has noticed the atmosphere growing increasingly away from evolutionary thinking. Students are not buying into the lies they are being fed and are questioning source material as they should. Mike has two very interesting projects on the forefront - 1) training Christians to discuss and teach Creation, and 2) offering evidence for design to public school science teachers. Read more about his ministry and plans for the future at riddle.nwcreation.net and www.train2equip.com. For the latest schedules on ICR loop tours, see www.icr.org. Check the CSFNM website periodically for new events, www.swcp.com/creation. Evolution's days are numbered!

You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is staid on You. (Is 26:3)

Should There Not Be, Equal Rights, At Least?
Since I am forbidden to pray (aloud) in a government building for the terrible fear that I might offend, I think the ACLU should petition the courts to protect my rights that no one offend me by swearing and using my Lord's name in vain in any government institution. We should be an equal opportunity non-understander of Jefferson's intent in separation of church and state.

I would say that also would mean no one could swear using Allah, or Buddha, or whomever, but that never happens anyway. And to say it's just an auto-response no good. Because Christians would like to auto-respond with praises to our God in many situations. But whoa, that's prayer.

The Importance of Creation to Faith and Knowledge - Part VIII
by Mark De Spain

The Words of Jesus: Regarding the spoken words of Jesus, most Christians would be surprised to find out that Jesus not only said that man has been here since the beginning of creation, but He even wove the truth of a recent creation into the very fabric of faith.

In Luke 11:50 Jesus tells us "that the blood of all the prophets which was shed from the foundation of the world may be required of this generation." This verse states explicitly that prophets of God have existed from the foundation of the world.

In Mark 13:19, Jesus is speaking about the tribulation of the last days and says: "For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be." The Greek word for tribulation describes human turmoil; again, the conclusion is that humans have existed since the beginning of the creation.

In Matt. 25:34, Jesus, when speaking of the redeemed, says: "Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.'" This verse implies that there were people who were redeemed since the foundation of the world.

Finally, in Mark 10:6 where Christ is addressing the issue of marriage, He says: "But from the beginning of the creation, God 'made them male and female.'" Obviously, people have been married from the very beginning of the creation.

In each verse, the time frame begins with both the origin of mankind, and the creation of the universe, which places man at the beginning of the creation and not at the end of billions of years of death and chaos as religious evolutionists propose. The verses address the murder of prophets, the tribulation of people, the kingdom of the redeemed, and the divine sanctity of marriage. These topics correspond to the doctrines of sin, judgment, redemption, and the plan of God for His elect as described in the parable of the marriage feast of the Lamb in Revelation 21:2. What is striking is that Jesus, in order to establish the validity of these truths, associated them with the very foundation of the universe. Almost as though He were saying, "My relationship with you is based on the same power by which I created, and now sustain the universe." To deny a recent, perfect, supernatural creation is dangerously close to deny the power of God to save sinful man and resurrect our dead bodies.

David Wenham, in his book Paul: Follower of Jesus or Founder of Christianity?, said "...that Jesus' ethical vision was of a return to the perfection of creation. Thus in the discussion of divorce Jesus refers his hearers back behind the law of Moses...to creation: He calls for creation standards. [With respect to] oaths...: Jesus refers his hearers back behind the law to something more basic still." (P. 222) The ethics of Jesus are the same ones that existed at the foundation of the world, and are those which will reign supreme once again at the end of time and the beginning of eternity.

Let us not be deceived, if long ages are true, then Jesus was wrong, and the Bible is false, for the entire Scripture, from first to last, is based on the premise of a recent, perfect and sinless creation. We believe the creation was recent, because the Bible tells us that. The truth of a recent creation affirms the love of God, builds hope in God's promises, and energizes our faith. Hebrews 11:1 says that "...faith is the substance of things hoped for..." And that which we hope for is fellowship in the love of God which He revealed in the original creation, and which He will restore never to be lost again. Creation is the bedrock of our salvation.

February Talk / April Talk

Jerry Coryell was our February presenter. He spoke about his trips to the Grand Canyon. He also discussed The Grand Canyon: A Different View, by Tom Vail. This is a book some evolutionists want banned from the park's bookstore. This book is scientific and speaks of creation - and quotes Scripture. (It also has awesome pictures, and smells good.) Jerry was speaking with Tom and Tom has agreed to be our April Speaker! Tom and his wife, Paula, run Canyon Ministries. They urge people to put on their Son glasses on their tours.
