Where did all that water come from? Tuesday, September 21st Meeting at Trinity College

Dr. John Doughty will review the major works regarding an earth water vapor canopy. These include the well-known "The Genesis Flood" by Whitcomb and Morris, "The Waters Above" by Joseph Dillow and several Articles in CRSQ which deal with the viability of a canopy. Some implications of having a canopy will be discussed along with an examination of a currently canopied atmosphere. Dr. Doughty will draw some inferences from the study. Associated with the talk will be some discussion about the fountains of the deep and what is revealed to us in Genesis and subsequent scriptures.

Plan to attend this special event with pen and paper ready. This will be an opportunity to learn from a person with the love of Christ, a Ph.D. in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering and a Degree in Theology from Albuquerque Bible College.

The 7:00 PM Meeting will be at TRINITY SEMINARY located in Albuquerque at 10110 Constitution Avenue NE Genesis 7:16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in. KJV

Origins Seminar for Public School Teachers

On Saturday, Sept. 25 at 10:00 AM, CSF is sponsoring a seminar at Del Norte High School with Scientific Evidence for an Alternative to Evolutionism. Free and lunch provided for School Teachers. Speakers include Dr. Russ Humphreys, Jerry Simmons and Ray Mondragon. Talks include: Introduction to Creation Science, Scientific Evidence for Creation Science, Scientific Evidence for a Young Earth and Evidence from Geology.

RSVP with Jerry Coryell at 294-7876

Books to be handed out at the Origins Seminar!

Due to special arrangements with Answers in Genesis and Master Books we will be able to provide the book "Refuting Evolution" without charge to Public School Teachers and to High School Students so that they may see the alternatives to evolutionism. These books may also be purchased at the regular and 10 % discount to interested members.

I have also "Refuting Evolution" and believe it is the proper book to put into the hands of people that have only been told the dogmatic religious beliefs of evolutionism. Be sure to attend the next meeting and ask if you may qualify for a free copy.

"Refuting Evolution" by Jon Sarfati (Reviewed by Jim Hovis)

Master Books Publications, 1999

This book is a good summary of the crucial arguments that establish whether creation or evolution is the correct basis of all thinking. It touches on the concept of the previous book mentioned last month, even though not specifically stated, that mankind is very biased. It also shows that men will defend a belief in spite of any arguments to the contrary. Since they can not refute the evidence, they can only discredit the messenger. So it is not surprising that persecution of Christians is becoming worse and worse not just in this country, but worldwide as well. This leads right into a book to be covered next month called "Scopes: Creation on Trial", by Cornelius and Morris; Master Books, 1999

Pictures from last month's fossil finding field foray to the Jemez

The CSF field trip to the Jemez Mts. on Saturday August 14th was attended by 45+ people. The weather, fellowship, collecting and learning were great. Three sites were visited: first was just west of San Ysidro where Jerry Simmons taught the group about the Colorado Plateau, Rio Grande Rift and the geology of the region; second was Battleship Rock and third the Hummingbird Music Camp area. Invertabrate fossils were collected at both of the latter sites.

Jerry asked that fossil ferns found at the last site be left intact and insitu. Jerry informed the group of ameteur paleontologists that this would serve to remind students and professors from UNM's geology classes that there is physical evidence that contradicts the accepted evolutionary model. He had this very experience with a 1998 invertebrate class from UNM where both the professor and a natural history museum person could not believe that the ferns were in this locale (marine sediment) and then ignored the evidence.

Picture of Jerry teaching the enthusiastic group about the geology and fossils in the area.

Picture of the infamous "out of place" ferns.
